Lately, I have been working with Michael Anderson
at the Yale Peabody Museum in New Haven, CT, creating
bird models for the newly acquired Point Pelee diorama.
My job has been to help sculpt the details of the feathers, make cast models of beaks
and paint a likeness of the birds, as well as apply feathers to them for a more
authentic look. This has presented several challenges in terms of matching color
and giving a softness to the bird. It is a work in progress which is very exciting and
rewarding.
I am welcoming comments and suggestions as we progress. Go to the following link: http://www.peabody.yale.edu/exhibits/james_perry_wilson_diorama Scroll to Michael’s Blog
